Meeting venue in Gouda: what to look for, and how it works in our wine bar

You choose a meeting venue on accessibility, quiet, technology and good food. Gouda scores on all four: twenty minutes from Rotterdam, Utrecht and The Hague, and at Gouds Glas you meet in the secluded wine bar with lunch from our own kitchen.

Meeting away from the office only works if the venue delivers more than it costs in travel time. Gouda sits in the heart of the Randstad and yet away from the bustle: twenty minutes by train from Rotterdam, Utrecht and The Hague, a five-minute walk to the Markt. That is where you meet at Gouds Glas, in the secluded wine bar. Here is what to look for in a meeting venue, and how we do it.

What to look for in a meeting venue

  • Accessibility for everyone: by train and by car, without half the team spending an hour on the road.
  • A room of your own, separated from the restaurant, so you can work undisturbed and talk in confidence.
  • Technology: a screen or projector, sound and fast wifi.
  • Food and drink that carries you through the day: good coffee, a lunch that does not come out of a box and drinks to round things off.
  • Flexibility: a boardroom for ten, a U-shape for twenty or a plenary set-up for a hundred.
  • A clear proposal with everything included, with no loose items afterwards.

Meetings in the wine bar at Gouds Glas

The wine bar is a secluded part of the restaurant with an atmosphere of its own: wine racks, warm light and calm. During the day it is our meeting room, with a flexible layout, AV equipment and guest wifi. Coffee and tea are ready when you arrive, and lunch comes from our own kitchen and is served in the wine bar or in the restaurant, depending on your programme.

Half day or full day

You book the wine bar for a half day or a full day, including coffee, tea and lunch. A meeting package with lunch is available from 20 euros per person; the price for the day is on request and depends on duration, number of people and catering. You receive one proposal in advance with everything in it.

From boardroom to plenary

For meetings and business gatherings we welcome 10 to 100 people. A management meeting of ten sits at one table in the wine bar; a quarterly meeting of eighty uses the restaurant with the wine bar as a break-out room. For corporate events of up to 200 guests you hire the whole building exclusively, including the terrace, brasserie, restaurant, wine bar and mezzanine.

Getting here

Gouda station has direct trains to Rotterdam, Utrecht and The Hague (around twenty minutes) and Amsterdam (around fifty minutes). From the station it is a five-minute walk to the Markt. By car, you park in the Nieuwe Markt car park, at the Klein Amerika site or at the P+R site by the station; all the options are in the parking guide.

After the meeting

The best meeting days do not end with the last item on the agenda. Round off with drinks on the terrace on the Markt, a Cheese & Wine Tasting for groups of 30 or more, or a business dinner in the restaurant. We plan it in straight away, so nobody has to move on.

How to request

Email the date, number of participants, duration (half or full day), preferred layout and facilities, and any dietary requirements to [email protected]. You will receive a proposal covering the meeting room, catering and, if you like, drinks or dinner.
